Can You Learn to Love Change?

Change happens in an instant. Change

What’s the first emotion you feel when CHANGE is coming? Are you resistant and reluctant? Or, are you curious and hopeful? Change comes at us from all different directions, in many different forms, when we least expect it and even when we need it the most.

Change happens in an instant..

You get that phone call. The tree crashes through your house – literally or metaphorically. Your child is hospitalized. You lose someone you love. You lose your job. Your marriage ends.

Or, you win the lottery!

Change happens over time…

Your children grow up and move on. You become a grandparent! Your marriage evolves. Your friendships grow, or fade. Your body changes. Your health changes. Your mobility changes. Your patience level changes – for the better or the worse. You learn to pick your battles. You choose compassion and understanding more often than conflict and being contrary.

The best change happens – BECAUSE YOU SAY SO!

You walk away. You invest in yourself. You take the trip. You declare your freedom. You take the road less traveled. You say NO. You say YES. You take a stand. You create a new possibility. You manifest a new reality.

Here are three powerful questions could be just the thing you need to learn to love change. If you already love change, use these questions to help others move forward.

  1. The Magic QuestionWhat would it look like if it worked? Focus on the possibilities instead of the problems. It’s a far more interesting and empowering conversation that can lead to real breakthroughs in your understanding of the situation, how others perceive the situation and of yourself.
  1. Is this real or am I making up a story? This is a big one folks. Step back and get clear about what’s fact and what’s fiction. You may find that all the things you have imagined could happen will disappear into thin air when held up to the light of the truth!
  1. What do I need to feel better about this change? Simple and to the point, this question helps you get clear about what you need to move forward and can be a gracious way to help someone who is really struggling to accept changes in their world.
